A five-module course on running gait assessment, interpretation, injury-specific treatment, and return-to-run programming — built for physiotherapists who want a structured, evidence-based framework for their running patients.
No running-analysis background assumed — but no re-teaching basic anatomy either. It starts exactly where a physio's training leaves off.
Every module is built around the current running-injury and biomechanics literature, not general opinion.
A repeatable gait-analysis method, fault-to-pathology mapping, and treatment/retraining pathways you can use in your very next running patient's session.
Each module unlocks once you pass the quiz for the one before it — work through it at your own pace.
Why running gait analysis matters for injury prevention and management, the evidence base and its limits, and where gait analysis fits in the broader clinical picture.
Video setup, what to look at and why, key kinematic markers, and the subjective intake/screening that precedes the analysis.
Reading the patterns — overstriding, cadence, vertical oscillation, foot strike, hip drop/crossover — and mapping faults to associated injuries.
Per-injury clinical reasoning: which gait faults to target for which diagnosis, and how to sequence treatment against your assessment findings.
Cueing strategies, drills, load management, and a structured return-to-run progression.
Chris is a sports physiotherapist with more than 25 years of clinical experience and an MPhil in Sports Physiotherapy from the University of Cape Town, awarded with distinction for his research. His clinical background spans sports and orthopaedic rehabilitation, biomechanics, running injuries, return to sport, and high-performance athletes. He has also lectured extensively to postgraduate Sports Medicine and Sports Physiotherapy students on biomechanics, knee injuries, running analysis, and return to play.
Work through the five modules in order, at whatever pace suits your schedule. Passing each quiz unlocks the next module automatically.
